The Word of Promise: New Testament Audio BibleMany Christians have audio Bibles (on tape, CDs, etc.); which is a wonderful way to stay in the Word while driving, or relaxing. A couple months ago our family became aware of a new product that we were instantly exited about from Thomas Nelson Publishers called The Word of Promise: New Testament Audio Bible, faithfully rendered in the NKJV.

This product is described as “Audio Theater”, or “Theater of the Mind” and is exactly that! Produced by Carl Amari – a man that grew up with a love of both the Bible and Radio Theater; he has accomplished an audio Bible that will overwhelm the listener with a sense of awe that that traditional audio Bible productions have lacked. The cast is both large, and full of notable actors; instead of one man reading the scriptures this product is comprised of actors playing each part. The recording is full of sound effects that really do bring the story to life in such a way that you may find it difficult to stop listening to it. In fact, I have found myself spending extra time in the car because I don’t want to turn the CD player off! The package is a 20 CD set, plus a DVD featuring the making of The Word of Promise: New Testament Audio Bible, and cast interviews. We at The ASOM could not recommend this product more highly; it’s purpose is our purpose: To get people into the Word of God. What a powerful tool this is!

Thankfully, Mr. Amari is hard at work on the Old Testament right now.
