Jesus used a powerful and poignant metaphor, the plowman, to explain to the people around him about pressing toward the goal. Brother Hansen draws our own attention to the skill of modern farmers to plow a straight line, row after row by fixing their eyes on a distant point or landmark; and by keeping their eye on that mark they press on toward the goal as described by the Apostle Paul in Philippians 3:13-14.

This timeless sermon was originally preached at the Mira Loma church of Christ on August 18, 1996 during the morning service.
